THE LAND
Our wild places support huge numbers of plants, fungi, insects and creatures of all kinds. Left to their own devices these landscapes can be a dizzying display of biodiversity. The way we use and care for the land is important. We need to leave undisturbed, unpolluted space for nature to thrive.
When we grow food, we now know how to improve and increase soils. Healthy soils store carbon and increase biodiversity. We just need to lessen the use of chemicals and make new regenerative farming practices happen.
Our landscapes nurture us and our fellow creatures. They also host some of the many processes that we rely on, like helping prevent flooding, purifying the air, preventing erosion, controlling pests, pollinating crops and storing carbon. How we live on our land is truly is a story of the precious earth. It needs our respect and care.
